1) Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how the Taha mobile application ("Taha", the "App") handles your information. Taha is an Islamic worship companion offering prayer times, Quran reading and audio, tafsir, a daily hadith, prayer and habit tracking, dhikr/salawat counters, and a Worship Focus feature. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

2) Privacy Summary

• Taha works without an account and is local-first: your worship data stays on your device.
• We do not sell your data or show ads, and we use no advertising identifiers (IDFA) or cross-app tracking.
• We use privacy-friendly, anonymous product analytics (PostHog) to improve the App — not linked to your identity.
• Location is used only on your device to calculate prayer times.
• The Screen Time (Family Controls) data used by Worship Focus never leaves your device and is not visible to us.

3) Data Stored on Your Device

The following stay on your device (and in your own iCloud if you enable backup):

• Prayer logs, habits, streaks, points, badges and progress/statistics
• Quran bookmarks, verse notes, liked verses and reading preferences
• Salawat/dhikr counters and focus session history
• Notification, language and display settings
• Your name (if you enter it) and your chosen location

4) Information Processed by Third Parties

Some features require communication with external services:

• Apple App Store / StoreKit — processes your purchases and subscriptions.
• RevenueCat — manages subscription status and premium access using an anonymous app-user identifier; we do not send your name or contacts.
• Quran audio (recitations) — streamed on demand from a public Quran audio API (e.g. alquran.cloud); such requests include your device's IP address, as with any internet request.
• Apple iCloud (optional) — if you enable backup, your data is stored in your own iCloud account.
• PostHog — anonymous product analytics that helps us understand feature usage and improve the App. Events are tied to a random device identifier (not your Apple ID, name or IDFA); we do not send personal data, and IP-based geolocation is disabled. This data is never used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Prayer times, the Quran text, translations, tafsir and hadith content are bundled in the App and work offline; only audio streaming and the optional iCloud/purchase functions use the network.

5) Location

If you grant location permission, your coordinates are used on your device to compute accurate prayer times and qibla direction. Location is not transmitted to us for tracking or advertising. You may instead pick a city manually or manage/revoke the permission in iOS Settings.

6) Screen Time / Worship Focus

The Worship Focus feature uses Apple's Family Controls / Screen Time framework to temporarily lock apps you choose during worship. The list of apps and the Screen Time authorization remain on your device under Apple's protection; we cannot see which apps you select or lock. You can end focus and unlock at any time.

7) Notifications

Local notifications (prayer, habit, hadith and streak reminders) are scheduled on your device. You can turn them off in the App or in iOS Settings.

8) Data We Do NOT Collect

Taha does not collect your contacts or photos, does not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), and does not track you across other apps or websites. The product analytics we collect (see section 4) are anonymous and used only to improve the App.

9) Data Retention

Local data remains until you delete it in-app or uninstall the App. iCloud backups remain in your iCloud account until you delete them. Purchase records held by Apple/RevenueCat are retained under their policies.

10) Children's Privacy

Taha is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Parents/guardians should supervise use by minors.

11) Your Rights

You can view, edit or delete your data in the App at any time, disable iCloud backup, and remove all local data by uninstalling. Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR/KVKK) you may have rights of access, rectification and erasure; contact us to exercise them.

12) Security

We apply reasonable technical measures, and data stays largely on-device under iOS protections. No system can guarantee absolute security.

13) Usage Analytics

To understand how Taha is used and to improve it, the app collects product usage data, which is processed by third-party analytics service providers acting on our behalf. This is data about how the app is used — for example which screens and features are used, how you move through the app, general engagement indicators, and basic technical information such as app version, device model, operating system version, and language/region settings. The specific data points may evolve as the app does; they always stay within this scope: product usage and diagnostics, nothing more.

Analytics data is associated with a randomly generated, pseudonymous identifier — not with your name, email address, or any account (there are none). It is used solely to improve Taha. It is never used for advertising, never used to track you across other apps or websites, and never sold.

Your choice: analytics is controlled by the Analytics toggle in the app's Settings. Turning it off stops all analytics, session replay, and error reporting immediately. The app is fully functional with analytics off.

14) Session Replay

When analytics is enabled, the app may also capture pseudonymous session recordings — a visual playback of how screens are used — to help us find usability problems. Text and images are masked (redacted) in these recordings, so they show layout and interaction rather than your content. Session replay is covered by the same Settings → Analytics toggle and stops when you turn it off.

15) Changes

We may update this Policy; the "Last updated" date will change and the new text will appear in the App.
